Local government reorganisation (LGR)
The 14 councils in mainland Hampshire are being reorganised into a smaller number of new councils. The statutory process for this is outlined in the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 and any relevant Statutory Orders issued by the Secretary of State.
To support public awareness and engagement with this programme, Hampshire County Council has been appointed by the existing councils affected by local government reorganisation ("participating councils") to develop and operate the Future Hampshire website on behalf of the whole programme. The participating councils are Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, East Hampshire District Council, Eastleigh Borough Council, Fareham Borough Council, Gosport Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Hart District Council, Havant Borough Council, New Forest District Council, Portsmouth City Council, Rushmoor Borough Council, Southampton City Council, Test Valley Borough Council and Winchester City Council.
Additionally, to prepare for and implement these changes, participating councils will need to share service data (including personal and special category data) amongst themselves, and with the new successor and shadow authorities. The lawful basis for sharing is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or necessary for reasons of substantial public interest.

The Future Hampshire website uses Hampshire County Council's existing Sitecore platform and supporting infrastructure. As a result, a number of essential Sitecore and ASP.NET cookies may be used to enable website functionality.

Performance cookies
Performance cookies help us to improve our website by collecting and reporting information on its usage. If you opt-out of performance cookies on our website, then videos will not play.
Sitecore Experience Platform
We use the Sitecore Experience Platform to deliver personalised content. The Sitecore Experience Platform allows us to:
- analyse web traffic patterns and trends to improve performance
- tailor content to user preferences based on previous interactions with the website
- present different versions of content to different users (also known as A/B testing)
To provide this personalised content, we collect your:
- IP address
- GeoIP address

- the pages you visit on hants.gov.uk and how long you spend on them
- what you click on while you are visiting the site

YouTube

If you apply a DNT parameter to the player, the only cookies that will be set are player_clearance, cf_clearance, _cf_bm, and _cfuvid, as these cookies are considered essential to the secure operation of the player.
Third party cookies
If you share a link to a futurehampshire.gov.uk page, the service you share it on (for example, Facebook) may set cookies. We have no control over cookies set on other websites. You can turn them off, but not through us.
