What local government reorganisation (LGR) means for you

At its heart, local government reorganisation (LGR) is about how councils continue to support people, places, communities, partners and businesses in everyday life.

Your local council(s) provide many services that are essential to everyday life across your area - whether that is collecting your rubbish and recycling, providing safe roads, ensuring access to good schools, homes and social care for vulnerable people, local libraries or planning your local area.

While local government is changing across Hampshire, for most people, day-to-day services will continue as normal throughout the transition and beyond.

Together, the 14 current councils in Hampshire are working together to make the transition to future councils as smooth as possible, and ensure our focus remains the same: providing essential services and support that you rely on.

Whether you are a resident, business owner, part of a community organisation, or one of our partners, we know you may be wondering what these changes mean for you.
